When responding to the complex cyber threats of the modern day, every second can mean the difference between containment of a threat actor and material impact to your business. In this talk, we will approach the day to day mindset of a SOC analyst with the adversary in mind, attempt to put ourselves in their shoes, explore decision making frameworks that promote SOC efficiency, and discuss some strategies for measuring the effectiveness of the SOC.
About the Presenter
John has over a decade of cybersecurity experience across multiple disciplines including red team, incident response, and threat hunting. He has a Bachelors degree in Cybersecurity as well as numerous industry certifications including GCIA, GCIH, GCFA, GREM, GDAT, and GSOM. He is currently the Director of Global Cybersecurity Operations and Incident Response at American Express.
